Was there a moment that you knew you were going to pursue your talent as your career?

“I’ve written since I was 6 years old so I feel like there was definitely a moment when I knew I was going to be a writer, I just can’t necessarily pinpoint it.”

If you could tell yourself a secret at the very beginning of your journey, what would it be?

“If I could tell myself a secret in the beginning of this journey, I would probably just say don’t date and focus on writing. It’s like a life hack that I fucked up pretty badly“

How has fashion connected to your artistry?

“For me, fashion and any form of self expression is art in a way. I’m one of those bohemian nut jobs that thinks that the highest form of everything is art. So I want someone who’s passionate about fashion to make my clothes. I want someone who’s passionate about food to cook my meals and I just want somebody who loves what they do the way I love writing all around me and it’s obnoxious and it’s so first world but ya know, whatever."

What is your favorite item in your closet and why?

“I would kind of want to say sweats just because I’m such a bum. I’m a writer so comfort is key and if I can be comfortable and have my laptop on my chest (cause I’m flat chested and that’s possible) or sit at my desktop in some comfy sweats like that’s life to me.“

How do you feel when you wear sweatpants?

“I think I’m one of those people that does resonate with comfort more than anything. I am also a firm believer that if you own it, you can make it look good. I’m quick to throw on a heel with sweats, throw on a slide with sweats, whatever I’m feeling. I think the inner tomboy within, it kind of penetrates that and makes me feel like I’m in my element.”

Do you have a special piece that you wear or a special journal that you use when creating?

“For me I’m kind of still a moleskin nazi. So I will use a moleskin notebook for everything, whether I’m screenwriting, whether I’m formatting an interview or book writing. I don’t care what it is I’m always going to have a moleskin by my side. Just like all black accessories at all times. I don’t know what that’s about. I think I think I’m a beatnik or something. It’s confusing.“

How do you feel once you've completed a creation?

“I mean completing a project feels like cumming right? Because it’s orgasmic. It’s past kind of like the material existence. For me in regard to writing, that’s my calling, that’s my passion, that’s why I’m here. It’s so much bigger than just my body and what I’m doing. So yeah it feels good, kinda like sex if you do it right.”

What was the last song you played?

“The last song I played was probably the Jay Cole freestyle on the LA leakers”
